Juneau Jazz & Classics is looking for several musical instruments to use in the free public performance of “Inuksuit” by John Luther Adams on Saturday, May 21.
The piece is written for nine to 99 musicians and participants in the Juneau performance include musicians from Southeast and professional musicians from as far away as Chicago.
Jazz & Classics is mainly looking for percussion instruments and hopes to borrow the following standard instruments:
• glockenspiels and bell kits
• tom-toms
• bongos
• congas
• drum kits
• bass drums of any size
• cymbals of any size
• gongs
They are also looking for the following unusual instruments:
• hand crank air raid sirens
• conch shells
