Juneau Lyric Opera will have open auditions for Sondheim’s “Putting It Together” for their Fall 2016 production, which will be directed by William Conrow.
JLO is looking for someone to play the Wife and sing “Getting Married Today,” the Husband’s “Sorry-Grateful,” the Young Woman’s “The Miller’s Son,” the Young Man’s “Merry Me A Little” and the Host’s “I Could Drive A Person Crazy.” Additionally, there will be five non-singing roles for three women and two men; participants should be aware they will be constantly interacting with the singers throughout the two-hour production. Each person is asked to dress ready to dance.
Audition times are Friday, June 24, at 6 p.m., and Saturday, June 25, at 1 p.m. Both will take place at the Holy Trinity Church’s library, which is located to the right of the main entrance. Those who wish to audition must sign up in advance by calling (907) 586-2742 or email director@juneauopera.org. After signing up for an audition time, each person will be provided with an electronic copy of the sheet music for the part the person is auditioning for.
