Juneau Cabaret to perform July 31

Local singers and accompanists will perform via Juneau Cabaret on July 31 at the Rockwell Ballroom. Vocalists range from students to semi-professionals. Songs include jazz standards, musical theatre songs, and some pop songs.

Vocalists are Becky Bear, Zeb Bodine, Jack Brandt, Beth Hixson, Patricia Hull, Kylynn Machir, Bobbi Mitchell, Heather Mitchell, Kristina Paulick and Latoya Sherron; accompanists are Jacque Farnsworth, Bev Haywood, Tom Locher, Luke Weld and David Sheakley. Food, beer, wine and cocktails will be available for purchase.

Juneau Cabaret was formed in August 2009 when a small gathering of singers and accompanists gave their first performance in the local big band’s rehearsal hall (Big Blue) as an invitation-only gathering. Today, Juneau Cabaret has grown to become a local institution that performs bimonthly in Rockwell’s upstairs ballroom.

Audience members under 21 must sit in a specified alcohol-free area or be accompanied by a parent.

The event is Sunday, July 31 at 7 p.m. in the Rockwell Ballroom. It is pay-as-you-can.
