The Juneau Community Foundation thanks Avista for a recent donation of $10,000. Avista, parent company of AEL&P, focuses its community philanthropy on education, vulnerable populations, and economic and cultural vitality. The donated funds will be used as part of the foundation’s 2018 Juneau Hope Endowment grant program. Through a competitive grant process, these funds will support local nonprofits that address social service needs in these areas: mental health, suicide prevention, substance abuse, homelessness, victims of violence and hospice.
The Juneau Community Foundation greatly appreciates Avista’s philanthropic support in our hometown. This is the second year in a row that Avista has supported the Juneau Hope Endowment grant program. Each year the Foundation conducts “listen and learn sessions” to help establish funding priorities. Accordingly, Avista’s generous donation will be thoughtfully invested in the nonprofit sector that provides so many essential social services to our residents.
