Dan Jager of Capital City Fire Rescue has successfully completed the process that awards him the professional designation of Fire Marshal. The Commission on Professional Credentialing met on Aug.17, 2016, to officially confer the designation upon Fire Marshal Dan Jager. Fire Marshal Jager is one of only 110 designated Fire Marshals worldwide.
The Commission on Professional Credentialing awards the Fire Marshal designation only after the individual successfully meets all of the organizations stringent criteria. The process includes and assessment of the applicants education, experience, professional development, technical competencies, contributions to the profession and community involvement. In addition, all applicants are required to identify a future development plan.
The Fire Marshal designation program uses a comprehensive peer review model to evaluate candidates seeking the credentials.
Fire Marshal Jager has been with Capital City Fire Rescue since July of 2005. He has accumulated 26 years in the Alaska Fire Service.
