The thirtieth season of Juneau Jazz & Classics will continue the tradition of bringing America’s best jazz, blues, and classics to Juneau.
“It has been a joy to welcome this quality and diversity of musical talent to Juneau for three decades, and every year it just gets better,” said Jazz & Classics’ artistic and executive director Linda Rosenthal. “Our 30th season features a line-up of stellar performers including Mavis Staples, Carolyn Wonderland, Béla Fleck, the ‘President’s Own’ Marine Band Jazz Combo, the Vega Quartet, Katie Thiroux, Third Coast Percussion, the Rad Trads, and more.”
With performances that spill out from the concert halls to the university campus, local coffee shops and taverns, and this year into the great outdoors, Jazz & Classics continues its mission of reaching out to the broader community, with instructional workshops, programs in the schools, free lunchtime brown bag concerts, and other family-friendly programs for people of all ages and economic backgrounds. The full schedule is available at www.jazzandclassics.com. The season kicks off Friday, May 6.
