The Juneau Public Libraries and the Goldtown Nickelodeon Theater will take part in the second annual National Evening of Science on Screen on Tuesday, March 22. Nineteen independent theaters in cities across the country will participate in this event, which will feature a short introductory video, followed by a unique film and speaker presentation at each venue as part of its Science on Screen program.
The Goldtown Theater will screen “A Birder’s Guide to Everything” at 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. March 22. The downtown Juneau Public Library will host a talk by Gustavus naturalist and author Hank Lentfer, who will discuss the science of recording the sounds of nature,” beginning at 5:30 p.m. Both the film screenings and the talk are free and open to the public.
