The Juneau Student Symphony will hold two different “Spring is in the Air” performances as part of its spring concert series in the month of April.
Musicians of all ages and experience will take the stage led by the JSS’s conductor, Tyree Pini. They will be playing American favorites from composer Aaron Copland and a compilation by Andrew Lloyd Weber, among others. The JSS will also be joined by musicians from Ursa Minor and Aurora Strings, led by Guo Hua Xia. In addition, the Juneau Symphony’s 2015 Junior Division Youth Solo Competition Winner, Reece Bleakley, will be the featured soloist, performing her winning concerto, “Air a l’italien” by German composer Georg Philipp Telemann.
This concert is partially funded by the citizens of the City and Borough of Juneau through sales tax revenues.
Concerts will be on Sunday, April 3 at 3 p.m. at the Juneau Arts and Culture Center and Monday, April 4 at 7 p.m. at Glacier Valley Elementary School.
Admission is pay-as-you-can at the door.
