Juneau Symphony to hold Pops Concert

On June 11-12, the Juneau Symphony will hold its summer Pops Concert: A Tribute to the Film Score. It is the final concert of the 2015-2016 season and is sponsored by Alaska Airlines.

The program includes such classics as “Over the Rainbow” and “Star Wars,” to the epic “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Theme from Jurassic Park,” as well as a nostalgic tribute to Audrey Hepburn movies. Great Hollywood composers Alfred Newman, Ennio Morricone, Henry Mancini, John Barry and John Williams will be featured.

The concerts are at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 and 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 12 at the Juneau Douglas High School Auditorium. Advance ticket prices are $29-32 for adults, $24-27 for seniors and $17-20 for students and youth. Add $3 for tickets bought at the door. There are limited pay-as-you-can seats available at the door
