Juneau Symphony to perform John Williams tribute

Composer John Williams has made some iconic themes for movies from the “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones” trilogies to “E.T.” The Juneau Symphony, led by conductor Troy Quinn, will be doing a tribute for the movie maestro of Hollywood film scores on Saturday, June 10 at 8 p.m. and again on Sunday, June 11 at 3 p.m. at the Juneau-Douglas High School.

This concert is costly to produce, and people can help this event by joining Juneau’s Jedi Knights by donating over $100 at the concerts; Knights will receive a mug with Yoda and Quinn on it. All money from the Knights will go to supporting the concerts. To learn more or donate, contact the Juneau Symphony at (907) 586-4676 and info@juneausymphony.org.

There are other ways locals can assist, like housing a visiting musician. The requirements for the visiting musicians are: he or she need a private bedroom, a shared bathroom, and access to a kitchen. If you are unable to house a musician, you can assist by picking up musicians from the airport, or take one of them to a presentation at a local school or take them on a sightseeing tour. If interested, contact the Juneau Symphony.
