Juneau’s adult day center hosting wine tasting fundraiser

All Juneau and Douglas citizens, age 21 and older, are invited to enjoy The Bridge Adult Day Program’s first Summer Wine Tasting and Silent Auction Event, to be held Friday, June 22 5:30-7:30 p.m. The event will take place at The Bridge Program, located at 1803 Glacier Highway. The event will feature an assortment of wines from two local distributors, an array of silent auction items, the smooth musical stylings of Tom Locher and a tour of the Adult Day Center.

Proceeds from the event will go to support the work of the Adult Day Program which provides daily care and therapeutic activities for Juneau senior citizens, especially those with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The Bridge aims to reduce family caregiver stress and helps seniors remain in their homes for as long as safely possible. Tickets are $30 each or $50 for two and may be purchased at the Juneau Arts and Culture Center, Hearthside Books, Rainy Retreat and at JAHC.org.

“The Bridge” is a program of Southeast Senior Services, a division of Catholic Community Service. For more information about the Wine Tasting or for a visit to Juneau’s Adult Day Center, call Kelsey Wood at 463-6156.
