Kids go behind the scenes at job sites

Youth from Kindergarten through fifth grade are invited the Juneau-Douglas City Museum to spend some or all of spring break as part of the Juneau Explorers Program. The theme of the week is “Jobs in Juneau.” Participants will gather at the Museum at 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, March 21-25, and then travel on foot or by city bus to visit one or more work sites and meet real people doing real jobs in the community.

Throughout the week, the Juneau Explorers will visit the Lucid Reverie Design Studio and learn how to make a ‘zine, will meet scientists and an archeologist at the U.S. Forest Service, will go behind the scenes at the Southeast Alaska Animal Medical Center and at the Juneau Police Department, will watch fish being processed at Taku Fisheries and witness a radio program in the making at KTOO. There will also be time for outdoor play and to explore the exhibits at the City Museum during the week.

For more information and how to register visit: juneau.org/museum or call 586-3572.
