Methodist Camp: thank you for coming to our open house

The Eagle River United Methodist Camp (ERUMC) would like to thank the Juneau community for attending the open house at the camp on April 4. Roughly 200 people visited, enjoyed and toured the wonderful facilities available to this community for rental.  The perfect sunny day made it a great time to play lawn games, eat hot dogs and ice cream and tour the camp and the hiking trails which surround it. The camp is a year-round community facility and retreat center available to all. Located at 27-28 mile Glacier Highway, it is ideal for meetings, retreats, planning sessions, hiking, fishing, nature walks, bird watching, weddings and church camps, as well as school and family camps. ERUMC is a great spot for cross-country skiing, winter survival camp, environmental education, hunting education and recharging one’s spiritual batteries. Being next to Eagle Beach Recreation Area and in close proximity to the hiking/biking trails of Herbert and Eagle glaciers, the Alaska State Eagle Beach Recreation Area and the Boy Scout Camp makes the site an ideal facility to escape from the day-to-day routine. The facility, which has been in the community for over 60 years, is open to the entire community. Please check out the camp at www.methodistcamp.org.

Thank you and hope to see you at the camp!

Paul Beran, ERUMC Board President
