Mudrooms, Juneau’s monthly community storytelling event, is offering a free storytelling workshop called The Story Factory from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10 at Northern Light United Church.
“Everybody has a story to tell,” said Mudrooms Storyboard Member Tom Cosgrove, “but some are unsure of their storytelling skills.”
Cosgrove and other local storytellers, including Pat McClear and Pete Griffin, aim to help people tell their stories with confidence. Whether it’s refining content or tips for speaking in front of a crowd, community members will receive expert advice in a welcoming environment.
The event is free and open to the public. No RSVP is necessary.
December’s Mudrooms will follow on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. As usual, there will be seven storytellers telling seven stories at seven minutes each. Entry is $7 and will benefit Trail Mix. This month’s theme is “Square peg in a round hole.”
Attendees will hear stories of not quite fitting in from Bob Coghill, Elizabeth Eilers, Bev Levene, James Brooks, Rebecca “Bells” Service, Brit Anderson and Corey Peratrovich.
