Who’s your hero?
As part of its Summer of Heroes scholarship program, Alaska Communications will honor Alaska youth who are making a positive difference in their communities, according to a press release. Last year, Juneau’s Bergen Davis was honored for helping the homeless.
Five selected youth, plus one from the Employee Program, will each be awarded a $1,500 scholarship through the University of Alaska College Savings Plan, and be given special recognition in their local communities.
Anyone can nominate a hero in their life, who is between the ages of 6-18, and has made a significant contribution to his or her community through acts of kindness or bravery. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to nominate Alaska youth by completing a nomination form by June 28.
