Pol Corvez to talk at City Museum
The Juneau-Douglas City Museum will host “Mailboxes: Portraits of North Douglas,” a presentation by photographer Pol Corvez, on Thursday, Jan. 12, from 7 – 8 p.m. Corvez will discuss his current exhibit at the Museum, “North Douglas Highway Mailboxes,” as well as his career in photography.
Born in Brittany, France, Pol Corvez began his interest in photography as a teenager. After obtaining his English teaching license, he spent three years in Canada and six in the United States, where he became a professional photographer. Upon returning to France, he started a photography studio in the Loire Valley and began teaching college photography, eventually attaining the position of lecturer at the University of Angers. Now retired, Corvez devotes most of his time to his photography projects, though he does still teach occasional workshops.
Find out more about his exhibit in this week’s Capital City Weekly First Friday listings.
This event is free. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. There will be a question and answer session following the presentation.
