On Saturday, Feb. 27 Betse Green will be leading a special improv workshop — Playing With Heart — from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hangar Ballroom. The cost for this class is $30, and students may either register in advance or pay at the door.
Playing With Heart focuses on finding and playing characters authentically from your heart, not your head. Participants are invited to take a journey into a world of full of emotions and emotional stakes to create strong, grounded characters that naturally lead to compelling scene work. This workshop is designed to hone skills, find joy in improv by allowing vulnerability and draw strong, meaningful connections from scene partners.
Since 2002, Betse has been an ensemble member and teacher at ComedySportz Portland. She has also performed and taught at Curious Comedy, Portland Community College and at various festivals in the U.S. and Canada including IFCincy, NOLA Comedy Arts Festival (New Orleans), Del Close Marathon (New York City), Seattle Festival of Improvisational Theater and Chicago Improv Festival.
