Next Saturday, the Juneau-Gastineau and Glacier Valley Rotary clubs will join forces to fill the shelves of the Southeast Alaska Food Bank.
The annual event, which is part of the clubs’ community service efforts, will welcome shoppers between 10 a.m. and 3p.m., passing out lists of most-needed items. Rotarian volunteers will be collecting at Foodland IGA and Super Bear IGA. Thanks to support from First Student, collected items will be loaded onto buses and transported to the food bank.
Juneau’s Rotary clubs are part of Rotary International, a global service organization whose purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and to advance goodwill and peace around the world.
