The third concert in the Piano Series will showcase Kyle Farley-Robinson, a sophomore at Juneau-Douglas High School.
Farley-Robinson has done two concerts in support of the Juneau Alaska Music Matters program; has been an accompanist for the choir; been chosen for two Command Performances during the last two Southeast Alaska Music Festivals; was the winner at the Junior Level Concerto Competition in 2013; and was an Honorable Mention at the 2014 Anchorage Piano Competition. He attended the Adamant Piano Camp in Vermont last summer studying under famous teachers. Here in Juneau he takes lessons with both Mary DeSmet and Mary Watson and has been a student of Dr. Alexander Tutunov for several years. His program will include pieces by Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Ravel.
The event will be on Sunday, Nov. 27, at 3 p.m. at the Northern Light United Church. The concert is free but donations go towards purchasing a grand piano for the new Juneau Arts and Culture Center’s performing arts hall.
