Thank you for making League of Women Voters wine tasting and silent auction successful

On Oct. 27, 2017, the League of Women Voters of Juneau held its third annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction Fundraiser. We would like to thank the many individuals and businesses who made this event successful!

Thanks to the Hangar on the Wharf for providing the venue, delicious food and helpful staff; Rob Cohen for the classy jazz music; and to Keith Crocker of Specialty Imports of Alaska and Mollie Carr of K&L Distributors for providing the amazing wines.

Also thank you to local businesses who donated toward our silent auction: Alaska Travel Adventures, Annie Kaill’s, Cycle Alaska, Best Western Grandma’s Featherbed, The Hangar on the Wharf, In Bocca al Lupo, Joe McCabe Photography, Juneau Arts and Humanities Council, Juneau Lyric Opera, Juneau Mercantile and Armory, Magic Nails, McGivney’s, Nugget Alaskan Outfitter, Sandbar and Grill, and Ward Air. Most of the money raised from our fundraiser came from our silent auction, so we are extremely grateful to these businesses for donating to our cause!

Thank you also to league members and friends who donated auction items and/or time to the event: Judy Andree, Carolyn Brown, Michelle Bonnet Hale, LaRae and Loren Jones, Marjorie Menzi, Marianne Mills, Chris Niemi, Angela Salerno, and Margo Waring. Also, a big thank you to those who attended and dressed up in costume for the costume contest!

We raised a total of $1,962.50 from the event, which will help fund the work of the Juneau league to register citizens to vote, inform the public on local issues, hold candidate forums, and encourage citizens to actively participate in government.

Thank you again, Juneau, for all your support of the League of Women Voters of Juneau!
