Thanks to members of the Gastineau Genealogical Society, two workshops were held at the downtown library in March providing hands-on instruction on how to access the library’s Ancestry databases and records. The sessions, titled “Beginning Genealogy — First Steps to Finding Your Ancestors” followed by a session titled “Introduction to Ancestry.com,” were lead by Theresa Campbell of GGS with the assistance of GGS members Gary Kostenko (society president), Gaye Willis, Carol Bruce, Larry Pearce and Karen Paulick. The Ancestry Library Edition offers information for conducting genealogical and local history research, including census records, ship passenger lists, war service records and more.
