Thank you to all who helped with the Taste of Promise Cook Off fundraiser

Family Promise of Juneau recently hosted a Taste of Promise Cook Off fundraiser and thanks to so many generous people, it was a wonderful success!

Cooks from our 10 hosting congregations and our seven supporting congregations treated us all to a delicious array of food. Those in attendance sampled a variety of entrees, side dishes and desserts and then voted on their most memorable bites. When all was said and done, the top votes went to: Lisa Wallace, dessert; Joe Orsi, side dish; and Dan Corson, entree. Congratulations to all three winners of the coveted Wooden Spoon Award!

A quilt raffle was also held at this gathering and Family Promise of Juneau extends gratitude to the Chapel by the Lake for welcoming us to host the event in their church. The space was inviting with lots of room for guests to sample and enjoy the good food provided.

We are also grateful to both KINY’s Capitol Chat and KTOO’s A Juneau Afternoon for giving us the microphone to promote our mission and our events.

Pat McLear,

Juneau
