As the legislature and their staff across our state return to our state capitol to start work on the important priorities in our state, the Southeast Alaska Food Bank board of directors and volunteers would like to thank those members past and present of the senate, the house, their family members and the legislative staff for their ongoing support of the Southeast Alaska Food Bank.
In the last three years, the annual “Thanksgiving in March” event has raised more than $100,000 for the food bank. This event comes at a time when our shelves are running low, yet the need for food continues to remain high. These funds help us continue to provide healthy and nutritious food that will make a difference in the lives of children, seniors and families in need.
Last year through the efforts of our one employee and our dedicated volunteers, the Southeast Alaska Food Bank provided more than 330,000 pounds of food to members of the community, local food pantries and nonprofit organizations.
When we all work together, amazing results can be achieved.
