Thank you to the Juneau Community Foundation

Southeast Senior Services (SESS), a division of Catholic Community Service (CCS), would like to thank the Juneau Community Foundation for providing us with the opportunity to receive funds from the City and Borough of Juneau to provide hot, nutritious meals for local senior citizens. In addition to good nutrition, the meals offer the benefits of human connection, socialization, and a daily safety check.

This past fiscal year, funding received through the Juneau Community Foundation helped to ensure that senior meals were available five days throughout the year. From July 1, 2016 -June 30, 2017, our staff served over 9,900 meals at the Juneau and Douglas Senior Centers. The Meals On Wheels volunteers delivered over 16,100 to Juneau’s homebound senior citizens.

All seniors ages 60 and over are encouraged to call the Juneau Senior Center at 463-6175 for more information on meals and senior center activities. These services help seniors remain healthy and independent for as long as possible.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Juneau Community Foundation and thank the Foundation and the City and Borough of Juneau for their commitment to the seniors of Juneau.

Sincerely,

Gail Fenumiai

Regional Coordinator of Southeast Senior Services
