Cadet Wilson Tetsukichi Suzuki of Juneau graduated from the U.S. Military Academy on May 21.
Suzuki, who is the son of Martin Suzuki of Juneau, graduated from Thunder Mountain High School in 2012. While at West Point, Suzuki concentrated his studies in environmental engineering. He was commissioned as 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Army within the Engineers branch and will report to Fort Drum, N.Y., for his first assignment.
The U. S. Military Academy at West Point is a four-year, co-educational, federal, liberal arts college located 50 miles north of New York City. It was founded in 1802 as America’s first college of engineering and today is consistently ranked among top colleges in the country. Its mission is to educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets for careers as officers in the U.S. Army.
