Travel Juneau has announced the results of its first board of directors elections since becoming a self-perpetuating board in November.
Richard Burns of the Juneau Radio Center was elected to a three-year term on the board. John McConnochie of Cycle Alaska, KC Hostetler of Alaska Airlines, Liz Barlow of ABAK, and Jill Ramiel of the Silverbow Inn were elected to two-year terms. Valerie Kelton of Knightly Tours, Sarah Lowell of Coastal Helicopters and Carl Ramseth of Alaska Seaplanes were elected to one-year terms.
The board also includes two seats for City and Borough of Juneau representatives. Those are currently held by George Schaaf, director of the CBJ’s parks and recreation department, and Assembly Member Mary Becker.
The board members were seated July 26, and on the same day, the board elected McConnochie chair, Burns vice-chair, Ramseth treasurer and Ramiel secretary.
Travel Juneau, formerly the Juneau Convention and Visitors Bureau, has been operating since 1985 as the city’s collective marketing arm.
