The United Way of Southeast Alaska has this year awarded $15,750 in Community Impact Grants to eight different Southeast Alaskan nonprofits.
Friends of Zach Gordon Youth Center received $1,000; Southeast Regional Resource Center (SERRC) received $2,500; American Red Cross of Alaska received $1,500; Alaska Aids Assistance Association (4 As) received $1,750; Catholic Community Service received $2,500; Front Street Community Health Center received $2,000; Sitkans Against Family Violence received $2,000; and the The Salvation Army AK Division – Juneau Corps received $2,000.
Grant funds can be used to pay salaries, purchase materials, or pay for outreach; however, grant funds cannot be used to pay for overhead costs such as rent or utilities.
