Woosh Kinaadeiyi to host an Open Mic on Friday Feb. 19

Woosh Kinaadeiyi will be hosting its second Open Mic of season six on Friday, Feb. 19 at 6:30pm. The Open Mic will be held at GonZo, located at 11806 Glacier Highway.

The event, Woosh Kinaadeiyi’s first ever at GonZo, will be hosted by Dee Jay DeRego, accompanied by the Woosh Kinaadeiyi Band. This is a non-competitive even open to poets and performers of all ages and all abilities. Signups to perform start at 6 pm.

In contrast to previous years, this season features a rotating monthly schedule of non-competitive Open Mics, competitive Poetry Slams, and Spoken Word Workshops. The organization hopes this will allow more performance and educational opportunities for emerging voices in the community.

Woosh Kinadeiyi is a local nonprofit committed to diversity, inclusive community, and empowering voice. The organization hosts monthly events throughout the community.  Learn more at www.facebook.com/wooshpoetry.
