Woosh Kinaadeiyí will host the first event of their sixth season with an Open Mic on Friday, Nov. 20 at 6:30 p.m. The Open Mic will be held at the Mendenhall Valley Public Library, located at 3025 Dimond Park Loop.
The event will be hosted by Dee Jay DeRego, with the Woosh Kinaadeiyí Band. It is a non-competitive event open to poets and performers of all ages and all abilities. Sign up to read at 6 p.m.
In contrast to previous years, this season features a rotating monthly schedule of non-competitive Open Mics, competitive Poetry Slams, and Spoken Word Workshops. The organization hopes this allows more performance and educational opportunities for emerging artists in the community.
