Woosh Kinaadeiyí to host a Spoken Word Workshop on Sunday, April 17
Woosh Kinaadeiyí will host a spoken word workshop on Sunday, April 17 from 1-4 p.m. The workshop will be held at Kindred Post, located at 145 South Franklin in Juneau.
The workshop, taught by spoken word artists Christy NaMee Eriksen, Dee Jay DeRego, and actor Austin Tagaban, is the second of three educational opportunities put on by the organization this year. Eriksen, DeRego, and Tagaban will guide participants through a mixture of creative writing and theater exercises, aimed at helping poets gain performance skills in a supportive, inclusive environment. The workshop is open to all ages and all abilities. Anyone interested in creative writing or performance is encouraged to join; no experience necessary.
In an effort to make the workshop accessible, the cost of the workshop is on a sliding scale of $10-25. RSVPs are encouraged; RSVP by e-mailing juneaupoetryslam@gmail.com.
