The world is contracting and we are becoming isolated from each other
Closed car windows
closed ears and eyes
buy only at the chain store
Forget the little guy down the street.
Let’s open our ears and our eyes
and see who is out there
Say “Hello neighbor
What can I do for you?”
Have the habit of saying “Keep the change”
Smile at a senior
Always remember
We are family and a village
Seek out the small store or place less known
For really what else is there?
Terry Laskey writes: I am a professional gardener and call my business The Little Gardener. I have been a resident of Juneau for 39 years and love the city and enjoy my clients. When I’m not gardening I am dancing or playing music.
