FAIRBANKS — Two passengers in a car were injured Wednesday night on the road into Denali National Park and Preserve. One passenger was in critical condition.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported they were in a car that crashed near Savage River about 15 miles into the park.
The injured passengers were flown from the park airstrip to Providence Hospital in Anchorage.
The National Park Service said the driver of the car, an 18-year-old woman, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
A third passenger refused medical treatment.
All four in the car are seasonal employees of lodges outside the park.
The car came to rest below the park road near the river. It was scheduled to be removed Thursday.
