SOLDOTNA — A driver who stopped on a Kenai Peninsula road to let caribou cross was injured Thursday when a car slammed into his pickup.
Alaska State Troopers say the pickup driven by 27-year-old Noah Oostman was one of several vehicles stopped just before 1 p.m. on Kalifornsky Beach Road to let several caribou cross.
While Oostman was stopped, a sedan driven by 18-year-old Riley Weber struck Oostman’s truck.
Both drivers were transported to a hospital. Both vehicles were demolished.
Weber was cited for negligent driving.
