ANCHORAGE — State corrections officials say a 57-year-old inmate at a Kenai facility has died.
Michael Talcott was found unresponsive in a cell at the Wildwood Correctional Center about 4 p.m. Sunday and was pronounced dead 48 minutes later after attempts to revive him failed.
Officials in a news release said there were no obvious signs of trauma on his body, and he wasn’t currently under medical treatment.
Talcott was serving a 20-year sentence for sexual assault of a minor, and had been in custody since 2008.
Officials review every prisoner death, and the correction department’s Professional Conduct Unit will investigate Talcott’s death.
He’s the seventh inmate to die this year.
