The morning Alaska Airlines ‘milk run’ flight through Southeast Alaska ran into mechanical problems Wednesday.
As Flight 61 prepared to land in Juneau, a landing gear warning light flashed on the plane’s control panel, an airline spokeswoman said.
The plane aborted its landing as the crew performed safety checks in the air. The plane performed a low flyover of the Juneau International Airport control tower, where airport workers confirmed that the plane’s landing gear was down.
The plane landed without incident at 9:43 a.m., and it was taken out of service for further checks.
The flight’s passengers were shifted to another aircraft, which left Juneau about 2:30 p.m.
