The Alaska Republican Party has filed an official complaint against Joe Miller alleging “numerous serious violations of the Federal Election Commission act and regulations.”
The complaint, dated Monday, was released by the Republican Party via email in the afternoon.
According to the five-letter complaint sent to the FEC’s Office of General Counsel, Miller used a corporation named Restoring Liberty LLC to accept donations and spread campaign literature without proper disclosure and reporting.
The complaint also alleges that some of Miller’s campaign literature didn’t contain proper disclosures and that Citizens for Joe Miller — his campaign committee — fabricated donations, including a $4,500 in-kind donation from the Alaska Republican Party.
Miller renounced his Republican Party membership in order to run for U.S. Senate as a member of the Libertarian Party. Miller is running against — among others — incumbent Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski.
“Joe Miller is a licensed attorney and … must be assumed to be familiar with the requirements of law,” the complaint states.
The message was signed by Tuckerman Babcock, chairman of the Alaska Republican Party.
