JUNEAU — An Alaska man has been indicted after he allegedly suggested a Planned Parenthood clinic in Anchorage should not open because a rocket-propelled grenade was pointed at it.
Robert Joseph Klima of Wasilla was indicted Wednesday of making threats by phone.
An FBI affidavit says a Planned Parenthood call center reported Nov. 7 it had received threatening calls directed at the Anchorage clinic.
The affidavit says the caller identified himself as Klima, left his phone number and in one voicemail message said “apparently there is an RPG trained on your position. I suggest not being open tomorrow.”
Assistant U.S. Attorney Yvonne Lamoureux says authorities found guns in Klima’s home but no RPG or explosives.
A message left seeking comment for the lawyer listed as defending Klima, Jamie McGrady, wasn’t immediately returned.
