ANCHORAGE — A 34-year-old Anchorage driver has been charged with manslaughter in the weekend death of pedestrian on a busy city street.
Anchorage police say Lance Hobson also is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in the death of Edmund Onalik.
Witnesses told investigators Hobson early Sunday night drove a sedan north on Ingra Street and didn’t stop for a red light at 15th Avenue.
Hobson’s car struck the rear of a pickup traveling east on 15th Avenue. One of the vehicles struck Onalik, who died at a hospital two hours later.
Police continue to seek the driver of the pickup, a dark blue Chevrolet with large tires.
Police spokeswoman Anita Shell says the pickup driver stopped after the crash but left before giving a statement to officers.
