The executive board chairman of Alaska Power and Telephone has died. William Squires, who joined the company’s board in 2003, died Nov. 18, the company announced Tuesday.
“The whole of our AP&T family is greatly saddened by the loss of our esteemed colleague and friend. Our thoughts are with his wife Sherry, sons Ashton and Tucker and the entire Squires family during this difficult time,” said Michael Garrett, who will become AP&T’s new CEO at the end of the year.
Before joining AP&T’s board, Squires had been chief general counsel for the telecom firm Blackfoot of Missoula, Montana, and was Blackfoot’s CEO in 2012.
