Assault, sex abuse, vehicle theft: Recent court judgments, indictments

A man arrested for having intercourse with a 15-year-old girl was sentenced to nine years in jail last month by Juneau Superior Court Judge Louis Menendez.

Harris D. Graves, who was 20 at the time of his arrest in 2014, pleaded guilty earlier to a felony count of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor and a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor who was a runaway. The sentence imposed was eight years with two years suspended for the felony count and one year to be served consecutively for the misdemeanor, with three years probation.

• A Juneau woman who stole a man’s car at the Mendenhall Valley Breeze In store has been sentenced to six months in jail.

Reyna M. Regalado, 32, was sentenced last month in Juneau Superior Court after pleading guilty to one count of misdemeanor vehicle theft. She was court-ordered to pay restitution in an amount to be determined.

According to charging documents, a witness watched as Regalado got inside and drove away in a 2015 Ford Fusion that a man had just stepped out of to go inside the store on Sept. 22. The next day, a Juneau Police Department officer located the car downtown. JPD reviewed the security footage and confirmed that Regalado abandoned the vehicle and left the area on foot. She also allegedly stole items from the car. Regalado was arrested about an hour later.

According to online court records, this is the second time Regalado has faced a felony charge in Alaska. She was charged with burglary in 2013, but prosecutors dismissed the charge. In the past six years, she has also pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges including assault, larceny, resisting arrest, making a false report and criminal mischief.

• On Wednesday, Knute Felipe Jr. was indicted by a Juneau grand jury on one count of assault in the second degree in connection with an arrest on Aug. 8.
