Happy Halloween, Juneau!
For those wanting to trick-or-treat downtown on Halloween day, 50 downtown businesses will welcome trick-or-treaters from 2-6 p.m. Neighborhood business along Seward Street, Front Street and Franklin Street will offer candy, backpacks, bookmarks, a photo booth and other treats in celebration of Halloween.
For a complete list of participating businesses, see online at http://juneauempire.com/local/news/2017-10-21/where-trick-or-treat-halloween.
The Juneau Police Department also would like to remind motorists to drive safely on Halloween night, and to watch for pedestrians. Pedestrians are reminded to watch for motorists and cross streets at designated crosswalks if available. Police also advised pedestrians to wear bright clothing, walk in groups, have adult supervision, and carry a light source.
If trick-or-treating, police advise not to enter a stranger’s house and not to accept rides without parental permission. Only accept unopened store bought treats and inspect the treats in a well-lit area at home before eating them.
