The Alaska House Judiciary Committee has approved a bill to add a form of synthetic heroin to the state’s list of restricted drugs.
House Bill 24 now advances to the House Finance Committee.
HB 24 was drafted by Minority Leader Charisse Millett, R-Anchorage. In a statement supporting the bill, Millett said the drug, nicknamed “pink,” is “responsible for the overdose deaths of at least 46 people nationwide since 2015.”
