ANCHORAGE — Alaska State Troopers said a 53-year-old Wrangell man who was overdue from a boating trip has been found dead about 12 miles from the southeast community.
Troopers said the body of Kenneth Trammel was found Wednesday afternoon floating in Earl West Cove. Trammel’s boat has not been found.
Troopers said the body is being sent for an autopsy by the state medical examiner’s office.
Trammel left Wrangell on Nov. 5 aboard his 38-foot boat, the Thalasa, and was due to return after five days.
The Coast Guard cutter Anacapa, a Sitka helicopter crew and Wrangell search and rescue personnel were involved in the search for the missing boater.
