The Douglas Community Methodist Women (DCMW) invite the community to a summertime high tea on Saturday, June 10. Friends and family are welcome and fancy hats are optional.
The tea runs from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Douglas Community Methodist Church on the corner of 3rd and E streets in Douglas. There will be a silent auction accompanied by tea and appetizers, as well as live music and door prizes.
The group typically has two fundraisers a year and decided this year to replace their Fall Bazaar with a summertime tea, Beth McEwan of the DCMW said. Fundraising will go to the church’s various volunteering initiatives, from serving meals at the Glory Hole soup kitchen and shelter to providing scholarships to the Eagle River United Methodist Camp.
The church suggests a donation of $15 for adults, $5 for kids under 12 and $25 for families of four. The church suggests you reserve a seat by calling 209-3502; As of Tuesday, McEwan said seats are filling up quickly.
