The Juneau Police Department is investigating a theft of an estimated $10,000 in fishing equipment.
Police said the theft was discovered Monday by a business on Harbor Way downtown. The owner of Murphy’s Maritime Services called JPD at about 9:25 a.m. to report the burglary, said Lt. David Campbell. Campbell said the break-in happened some time between late afternoon Sunday and Monday morning.
Officers responded and found there had been forced entry made through a door. Campbell did not provide specifics regarding what had been stolen, saying it was a variety of fishing equipment.
No surveillance video was available, he said. Anyone with information can call the Juneau Police Department at 586-0500.
