The Juneau Police Department and the Juneau Crime Line are asking the public for help solving a burglary case.
JPD said Electric Power Systems, located at 2213 Jordan Avenue, was burglarized sometime during the night of Sept. 28 or in the early morning of Sept. 29. JPD and the Crime Line highlighted the theft as their “Crime of the Week” on Friday.
According to a news release, the burglar broke a window to enter the business and stole a ThinkPad laptop and a rifle.
Police described the rifle as a Game Master 760 pump action 30.06 with a scope.
“The rifle is only worth about $500 but has sentimental value as it was given to the owner by his late father,” noted JPD Lt. Kris Sell in the release.
Anyone with information about the burglary or theft can report a tip to JPD at 586-0600 or to Juneau Crime Line at juneaucrimeline.com. Tipsters are guaranteed anonymity and can be rewarded.
