The Canvas Community Art Studio and Gallery will offer five different classes in September: Beginning Wheel Throwing, Intertidal Pottery, Introduction to Oil Painting, Watercolor Plein Air and Hand Stamped Necklaces.
They will also continue to offer their open studio memberships ($60-$100) and their Saturday drawing group ($20).
In Intertidal Pottery, local artist Brian O’Sullivan will teach students how to create hand built plates, bowls and cups with a sea-themed spin. Adorn your functional pottery with hand carved barnacles, shells and other sea life. Classes are 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 7-21 and cost $150. Ages 17 and above.
Learn the basics of throwing pottery at three Beginning Wheel Throwing classes taught by Alex Botelho. Youth (ages 9+) classes ($100) will take place Tuesdays from Sept. 5-26 at 3:30-5 p.m. Adult classes ($210) are Sundays, Sept. 3-24 Noon-3 p.m. and Wednesdays Sept. 6-27 at 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Introduction to Oil Painting ($165) runs Thursdays, Sept. 7-28 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.; Watercolor Plein Air ($65) is Sept 9 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The Hand Stamped Necklaces workshop ($100), intended for the whole family, runs Saturday, Sept 16 at 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
