Car stuck in Gold Creek by Cope Park

SUV comes to a stop in Gold Creek

A vehicle ended up in the Gold Creek canal leading downhill from Cope Park Thursday.

The vehicle, a white Toyota SUV, went through a between the small parking lot at the south end of the park and rolled into the canal before coming to rest pointed downhill.

The driver is currently working on a plan to get the car out of the canal, said a representative from Capital Towing, but hadn’t managed to do so yet by Friday afternoon. The representative said that Juneau Police Department personnel had said the car’s brakes had failed.
