Capital City Fire/Rescue is looking for high school students to join its cadet program, and Wednesday offers people a chance to learn more about it.
The cadet program’s annual open house is taking place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hagevig Fire Training Center. The training center is at 2601 Sherwood Lane, across from the Department of Motor Vehicles office.
The program is open to students between 14 and 18, and is open to home-schooled students as well as those enrolled in the Juneau School District. The program aims to educate teenagers about the fire service while teaching them fire skills and leadership skills.
