The Juneau Local Emergency Planning Committee will be holding a free course for anybody interested in volunteering on the Community Emergency Response Team or learning emergency response skills.
The course, which will run from April to May, is broken into six sessions that will cover disaster preparedness, fire safety and search and rescue among other things. Most of the sessions, lasting about three hours each, will take place in the University of Alaska Southeast Recreation Center.
The course is open to anybody, but participants under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
